The records of the Augusta Union Station Company include the Structural Papers book for 1903-1904. This book documents the formation and organization of the Augusta Union Station Company. Included are copies of the Company's charter and by-laws; Augusta City Council ordinances relating to track and terminal facilities construction; deeds; leases and contracts; minutes of directors' and stockholders' meetings; and the first mortgage agreement with the Safe Deposit and Trust Company of Baltimore in 1903.

The Central Rail Road and Canal Company was organized in 1833 by a group of Savannah businessmen. In 1835, its name changed to Central Rail Road and Banking Company of Georgia.
